I liked these chapters because they seemed more appealing. I say this because in chapter 42, Tom told Aunt Sally everything about how set Jim free, then Aunt Polly shows up and gives away Huck's identity.
what I don't understand is why they didn't hang Jim once they got him? I understand that they would have had to pay for him if his owner showed up for him, but i highly doubt that would have been that big of an issue. It just kind of shocked me because you think that back during the time of slavery, they would have without a doubt killed him even if he wasn't their "N Word." It also surprised me that they still treated him better than others would have if he tried running away.
Something you could take away from these chapters is, if you are going to set a run away "N Word" free during slavery times, make sure he doesn't get caught again or else there could be serious consequences to you and the "N Word."
